The Puto Bumbong Story
Puto bumbong is a native Filipino delicacy that usually surfaces during Christmas time, particularly during the start of simbang gabi, where it’s served as a sort of early morning snack or a quick bite of breakfast. What most might not know is that it goes all the way back to the Spanish era, believed to have been brought in from Mexico. This colorful and historic dish has been recreated as a seasonal breakfast specialty by Early Bird Breakfast Club, pioneered almost 4 years ago as a one of a kind puto bumbong pancake concoction that breakfast lovers look forward to the whole year.
Stacked 3 layers high, served with rich coconut whipped cream and topped with melted cheddar cheese and toasted coconut toppings, Early Bird’s signature Puto Bumbong Pancakes are truly something to celebrate the season with. Have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or better yet, have it as dessert, and your tastebuds will warmly greet you a merry Christmas.
