Beautiful Breakfast now in Eastwood City!
Early Bird Eastwood Mall
Early Bird Eastwood Mall

Happy news for those in the North! After quite a wait, Beautiful Breakfast is finally in Quezon City! Last July 20, Early Bird Breakfast Club opened at the Eastwood Mall. And their 3rd branch has been packed since day one. Proof indeed that there are a lot of breakfast lovers in the North and East area.

The new branch still boasts pretty interiors that the restaurant has been known for. There’s their gorgeous signature wall mural that is an instant dose of sunshine for guests. Eastwood’s mural’s theme is sunny tropical featuring huge leaves and flowers in happy hues. Pillars of greens surround the place with mirrored walls giving the whole place a cozy tropical feel. The restaurant is really a refreshing escape for everyone—perfect for get-togethers with friends and families or for some much needed alone time.

Early Bird Breakfast Club also celebrates an early and exciting Christmas as holiday-themed items are launched in this issue’s menu. The much-loved Puto Bumbong Pancakes, an Early Bird Breakfast Club original creation, is back! Another returning dessert favorite is the S'mores in a Jar! This year’s version includes a chocolate truffle in the center making it even more moist and decadent!

New offerings that should not be missed are the Cranberry Piglets, Christmas Ham, Mac & Cheese, Bacon & Pineapple Scotch Eggs, Early Bird Sapin-Sapin, Chocolate Hazelnut Pouch, and the Handcrafted Hot Chocolate and the Holiday Ginger Tea. These and your other favorites at Early Bird Breakfast Club are the perfect fare for your pre or post Simbang Gabi meal, your Noche Buena or your Christmas Day brunch.

It will surely be a Merry, Merry Christmas at the prettiest club with the tastiest meals – Early Bird Breakfast Club!

Cracking A Beautiful Breakfast Idea.

The Birth of Early Bird Breakfast Club

by Ellen Joy Evangelista-Co

It all started with a dream. A dream of creating something that is purely homegrown but strong enough to compete with international brands. In our country, imported brands are often deemed better than local—and this is the mindset we at Early Bird Breakfast Club aim to change.

Early Bird Breakfast Club was an idea inspired from my stint living and working in Singapore where brunch was a big thing. And there were a variety of places to choose from. Being a morning person, I would always look forward to dining in these breakfast or brunch places. These leisurely meals were indeed highlights of my stay in the Lion City.

Moving back to Manila at the end of 2011, one of the things I missed most was having a good brunch. There just were not enough breakfast places, save for hotels or fast food. My then boyfriend and now husband, Kendrick Co was also a breakfast enthusiast and after telling him my idea, he lovingly supported my vision. Together, we created the concept of what is now Early Bird Breakfast Club.

This being our first venture in an industry so new to us (we are both graduates of Integrated Marketing Communications and not HRM), the task of putting up our dream restaurant was far from easy. Fortunately, our friends William See, Bianca Sevilla and Dianne Tang-See supported our goal and quickly joined in the company. Kendrick's branding company, Antidote, played a big role in developing the brand concept and design from the logo, store signage, uniforms, website, and even this newspaper menu you're reading. We owe all of our quirky and much talked about design to Antidote.

It took us some time to find the right place to have our flagship branch. We wanted a perfectly cozy spot that will make you feel like you’re not dining in the city. In 2012 we found our first store location at the Fort; our top choice. Through the talent of architect and designer Carla Suiza, the cozy and retro-chic ambiance we envisioned came to life. Together with our Chefs Matthew Hornsby-Bates and Matthew Kenneth Lim, Early Bird Breakfast Club finally opened its doors to the public on January 10, 2013.

Within our first year, we’d like to think that we have already built a following of loyal breakfast lovers. We are pleased to discover that a lot of people share our passion for beautiful breakfast. Those unfamiliar with our beginning, often mistake Early Bird Breakfast Club as an international franchise brought here from abroad. When we are asked, we proudly answer that we are a purely Filipino brand—entirely homegrown and built out of passion and love. We hope, in time, we can share our love for Beautiful Breakfast to the world.

Beautiful Breakfast in the Heart of Makati.

Beautiful breakfast has finally landed in Makati. Early Bird Breakfast Club recently opened its second branch at the ground floor of Century City Mall at Kalayaan Avenue. Now more spacious with an alfresco area and equally charming like its mother restaurant at the Fort, Early Bird Breakfast Club, Century City Mall features its signature dishes hailed as some of the best in the metro. These include the original Yin & Yang Champorado, The Early Bird Full English, Chorizo & Mushroom Risotto and everyone’s favorite, French Toast Fondue. New in the menu but quickly becoming popular are the Sweet Glazed Katcino and the Poached Salmon Aioli.

Aside from its hearty meals, Early Bird Breakfast Club is also known for its impeccable design and well-appointed interiors. Considered by many as one of the prettiest restaurants in the
country today, Early Bird Breakfast Club has become the choice spot of publications for their pictorials and shows for their shoots. It has also become a go-to venue for intimate parties such as baby and bridal showers. Early Bird Breakfast Club Century City Mall offers the same breathtaking ambiance this time designed and built by Jackie Mitra Bailon. Artists Soleil Ignacio and Kris Abrigo once again render a gorgeous mural wall that is perfect for a selfie.

But the best thing about Early Bird Breakfast Club is still probably this – one need not be an early bird to enjoy its food! You can have beautiful breakfast morning, noon or night.
